On Saturday April twenty first the Prince Edward track team traveled to Heritage High School for the Joe Curcio Track Classic. The meet featured seventeen schools. The eagle ladies finished in fifth place overall with 44 points. Leading the way was sophomore Makayla Morris. She equaled her personal best in winning the high jump at five feet four inches. She was second in the long jump with a personal record of sixteen feet and seven inches. She then placed third in the triple jump with another PR of thirty four feet and seven inches. Naomi Jones a sophomore took second in the four hundred meter run with a time of 1:03.27. Freshman Jayla Calhoun placed second in the girl’s discus with a toss of 99 feet and 11 inches. Also placing sixth in the discus was junior Shania Swann with a throw of 88 feet and 6 inches. Junior Nia Lee was fifth in the 300 meter hurdles with a PR time of 50.05 seconds. Jordan Booker a junior was sixth in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet 7.5 inches. Amourre Watkins was fifth in the boy’s high jump at 5 feet 10 inches. Josephine Hemmer, a freshman, was eighth after running a PR of 6:04.56. Chris Hicks another sophomore finished seventh in the 400 meters with a PR of 54.98. Freshman Jarvin Perkins was seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 38 feet.
